The design-build UC Irvine Verano 8 Graduate Student Housing project is located on a 7.8-acre site and will feature a new complex of buildings ranging from four to six stories that will house 1,050 residents. The purpose of Verano 8 is to address the need for affordable housing, satisfy graduate student housing guarantees and secure the university’s ability to provide services and residences to its growing graduate student population. Verano 8 will also consist of the demolition and replacement of the maintenance and operations facility, a new 853-stall parking garage and a new community building comprised of lounge, social, academic, study and event spaces.  730,700 SF

Natural ventilation, centralized bathroom and kitchen area exhaust system ducted to a common exhaust riser serving stack of units and continuously running rooftop exhaust fans, dryer exhausts; VRF heat recovery heat pumps and fan coil units with ductwork, air distribution and temperature controls serving common areas, IDF rooms, Electrical, Mechanical, Elevator rooms and corridor ventilation. This project achieved LEED Silver.
